Holy cow, how can it already be February?  I swear I was just finding out I was pregnant, now I have a almost one year old?!  Time really does fly by SO quickly and its such a bitter sweet emotion.  I love being able to watch Archer grow up and learn new things but I am dying for my sweet, soft newborn to be back in my arms.

The love I have for my little guy is out of this world.  I never understood motherhood but after having Archer its crystal clear.  I don't feel that you are ready for a baby or motherhood in anyway.. But you learn to adapt with the struggles, happiness, and trials that come with becoming a mother.  Nobody prepares you for the emotions you feel when they lay that little baby on your chest and when you want to get so mad at him for playing in the toilet but he looks at you with these eyes and your heart just melts.

Face it, I have been really bad about blogging lately and with Archer on the move it doesnt make it much easier! Okay, I have been such a bad bad blogger lately.  Life is extremely crazy!  I am working full time, we are always out of town on weekends, and I am hoping life slows way down because this mama is tired.  Anyways, I have been getting Archers Christmas list stacked with all sorts of goodies and this season I obsessed with buffalo plaid.  I honestly don't know why because I am not a red person AT ALL.  But everything about this print screams to me and I buy anything and everything that is Buffalo Plaid.  Back to my post- I purchased this blanket from Love & Lullabies off instagram.  I seen their blankets but I have never really ordered Archer blankets from offline because I love to feel them first.  But, when I saw this blanket I had to buy it.  I bet you guessed... its buffalo plaid with faux fur.  Seriously. Love & lullabies
I purchased this blanket and received it yesterday.  It was suppose to be saved for Christmas but once I opened it, saw it and felt it... Archer was having it now!  So with that being said, he is currently snuggled up with his blanket watching cartoons and I am one happy mama.  It really is so soft, even the red fabric is soft and the faux fur is my favorite.  It is a pretty good sized, and will be nice when it gets cold to wrap him up!  The only downfall was I was impatient and wanted my blanket now, and since everything she makes is homemade it took some time, but it was worth the wait.  Not to mention Alyssa is so nice and kind, which always makes me want to continue purchasing from small shops if they are kind and sincere.

Today we went to the Swiss Days in St. George and went to the car show.  We had kilo italian ice and a yummy tropical punch drink and spent our day looking at old, fancy cars.  Archer loves to go out and about and it was better then sitting home on a Saturday.  Afterwards, we hit Target and got Archer some new winter clothes, a sippy cup and you can't leave without a new toy.  We ate at Olive Garden and T is now building me a brand new dining table!! Yay!  I cannot wait to get a new, bigger one in there and I love that he is building it.  I love having a handy husband that can build just about anything and I love having a dining room with a soon to be big table for us to sit down and enjoy dinner time together.  Todays outfit was based around the fact that A. its still 90 degrees outside so warm enough for short sleeves & sandals but B. I want fall and cooler weather so I managed jeans instead of shorts/capris.

The top is a new purchase from Maurices the other day and is so soft.  It is a suede material and I love the floral print.  I am becoming obsessed with floral print.

My jeans I couldn't find on Bohme's website but they are flying monkey and the boyfriend style.  You can find a similar jean here. 

Sandals are a couple years old but are American Eagle brand.  They haven't worn out and are super comfy.


Stroller is a Jeep Adventure Jogging Stroller.  It is my favorite stroller ever made and I am so glad I purchased it.  Since purchasing they have came out with an newer model and I so wish I had it, but I love the one I do have.

September Favorites ||

It is almost October, I cannot even believe that.  Archer just turned 7 months old and I cannot even believe that.  September flew by and I have a bunch of monthly favorites that I want to share.

Beauty & Style ||

1. Too Faced "born this way" foundation.  I ran out of my foundation and went to Ulta to buy a new one..  They talked me into buying the too faced, born this way foundation and I am so glad I did.  It is one of my favorite foundations and covers but also feels light weight.  I don't like foundation that is cakey and thick, but I like it to cover.  This does just the trick.

2. Naked Smokey Palette // I bought this palette at a Ulta Urban Decay event and I LOVE it.  It is super pigmented and works good for smokey eyes.  It has every color that I would wear, and has glimmer & also a couple matte shadows.

3. Lorac Unzipped Gold Palette / I purchased this little beauty off the app POSH.  Someone swatched it and was selling it for half price!! So I snagged it and I love it.  The colors are so pigmented and metallic.  I get so many compliments on my eye shadow.

5. Babe Extensions // I love babe hair and I have worn their hair before but I just recently went and purchased new 22 inch extensions and I just love babe hair.

6. Alex & Ani Bracelets // My friend Barbie got me hooked on these and now I am obsessed.  I have three of them but I am wanting more!  I purchased mine used off of POSH because I didn't want to pay full price for one and the ones I loved were last seasons.  Currently I have a feather, a seahorse in honor of my niece who passed away, and a half of heart with friends.  The other half with Best is with my best friend Kenadee. (throwing it back to middle school haha.)

7. Jamberry // I got hooked with jamberry from a friends party and I decided to sign up to sell it myself.  I absolutely love how they look on my  nails and they work so much better then nail polish.

Home ||

1. Jersey Sheets from Target.  I just upgraded my sheets and picked out these jersey sheets from target and I am loving them.  They are stretchy, soft and feels so good to snuggly up in!

2. Bath & Body Works "Caramel Pumpkin Swirl" candle+wall flowers.  This scent is oh so yummy and I filled my whole house with wall flowers + candles and it smells amazing.

3. Chalkboards || I have always liked chalkboards but i am kind of obsessed now.  I have them all over my home and I just purchased a calendar style chalkboard and I love it.

4. Magic Erasers || These aren't too new but they take anything off.  That cute chalkboard I just mentioned above, yeah well I Accidentally wrote on it with permanent marker (i thought i was a white chalkboard marker) and well nothing would take it off.  I almost just threw the chalkboard away when I tried a magic eraser and it came right off!!

 5. Honest Company Diapers || I absolutely love these diapers for Archer.  Not only are they the cutest diapers ever made but they are just so amazing.  He never leaks or blows out and have I mentioned I am in love with their cute prints? I also LOVE their cleaning line. I use the cleaning spray and it smells so good and works amazing.  Plus I love that it is all natural so if I use it to clean anything of archers and he puts it in his mouth he will be okay!

What if I told you how easy it was to get whiter teeth? |

You read that right.  Getting whiter teeth was on my list of summer goals because face it, your teeth aren't white. (well mine weren't.)  Pregnancy did a number on my teeth and I mean that in a bad way. My body didn't accept pregnancy well, and my teeth suffered it.  I guess that is what happens when you puke daily for 25 weeks.  At least, A was worth all that but still.  Anyways I stumbled upon a product on instagram call Smile Sciences.   I ordered one and started to use it and I saw such a huge difference in my teeth color.  I went from the shade 3.5 to a 2 within a week!  It worked SO well that I am ordering one for T and my mom.  I feel so much more confident in my teeth and having them be whiter.  They are normally $299 but you can grab yours for only $29 with my discount code: SHALYN

Tan for the summer ||

I recently stumbled across Loving Tan and decided to give their product a try because lets face it this summer I haven't been on my tan game.  With a 5 month old my life has been kind of wild and I don't have time to go to a tanning bad, sit out by our pool, or even get a spray tan.  Not to mention I am so not ready to show off this body in front of anyone so a spray tan was out of the running fast.  But I love to be tan, I love to have that summer glow that makes everyone think that I do have time to go out and go tanning HA!  Anyways, I decided to order this one and I got it in the mail and I had to try it!  I showered, exfoliated, shaved and jumped out and got started!  I have a applicator mitt found here that I use and it works SO good. I also purchased this to help exfoliate and I love it.  It makes my skin feel fresh and brand new.  I highly recommend purchasing an applicator mitt because that way your hands won't go crazy colors.  This doesn't make you orange, it doesn't take long and it works really really well.  I love how my tan turned out and I got so many compliments and people telling me i looked way tan.


You start by showering, shaving and exfoliating.  Then you dry off (don't use any products on your body), and start your tan!  Before I start I always put lotion on my ankles and wrists.  You can do your knees and elbows but I never have any trouble so I don't.  Then you just pump it onto the mitt and start rubbing away.  Most the time I just do my legs and arms but if T is around I will have him do my back and such!  I also do my face every other time just to blend a bit.  Anyways, so after you apply it all on you just wait.  This is where I will read, watch tv, clean, etc. for two hours until it is set in.  Then after two hours you jump in and shower!  It reveals an awesome tan that'll last for days and it really does look so natural.  It doesn't turn you orange or anything! I promise that you will love how this turns out & will use this from now on!  To apply, it takes me about 10 minutes to slap it on!  It is so quick, and the bottle looks like it'll last for a while.  This is my second time trying it and I still love it.

30 day braid challenge || Week O N E

I have been quite in love obsessed with braids this summer to say the least.  I do a braid almost every day and I am constantly trying new styles to see what I like on my hair.  I have filmed a couple short videos that I braid during but I cannot get the guts to actually include my voice, maybe one day but for right now its just a video with some super fun music.  I have been really into making videos of everything lately.  Archer, vacation, hair, etc.  I do it all the time and it is so fun to look back on our memories and actually see what we were doing rather then just looking at pictures.  So with that being said I decided to do a 30 day braid challenge on instagram.  Make sure to go follow me to get the insights of everything @tynshayyardley




day 1; I did a side dutch braid.  We were heading to the water park and I wanted my hair out of my face but to still look cute.  A dutch braid is super easy to do and turns out so cute in the end.

day 2; a classic dutch braid pulled back and pinned.  This is my favorite go to hairstyle that I do a lot.,  It really is so simple and it keeps my hair out of my face and takes about 3 minutes to whip out.  You can do it with curly hair, straight, wavey, etc.  It really is the best go to hair style for everyone


day 3; a simple dutch with a fishtail stacked.  This was super fun to do and experiment with!  I did a basic dutch braid and then did a fishtail and stacked it on top.  It creates dimension and adds a little flare to your plain ole dutch braid.

day 4; this one was a different twist on a fishtail dutch braid.  I did a dutch fishtail for about 2 inches then stopped and then re-started a fishtail.  It created more of an allusion on the braid and added a different design then just your regular fishtail braid

day5; knotted braid pulled back.  This braid took me literally like 1 minute to do.  It was SO simple and turned out so cute.  You have to have super soft hair for this one (freshly washed if your like me.) you are actually tying knots in your hair which turns out so cute

day 6; Today I went to the lake and had the cutest french braid but totally forgot to snap a picture before I got thrown of the tube and soaked myself so I decided to use one from another day!  This style i did on my best friend Kenadee when she came down to visit.  It turned out so cute and I have wanted to try it out forever.  I started with a dutch braid down the center and then fishtailed the sides back into a fishtail braid.  She got SO many compliment on this braid during the day and everyone loved it.

day 7; This style I did on my friend, Kenadee. But it starts out with a regular dutch braid down the back and then fishtail both sides back and tie off.  She got so many compliments on her hair and it turned out so cute!!
